Secure Access and Session Verification

When accessing your Varidi-managed payment plan account online, it is your responsibility to ensure the session is secure. Prior to entering personal information:

    • Confirm that the URL begins with https://portal.varidi.com/

Varidi does not guarantee the security of your connection and assumes no liability for unauthorized access resulting from your failure to verify the integrity of your session or device.

Email and Electronic Communication Policy

Varidi will never initiate email communications requesting sensitive information such as account numbers, Social Security numbers, or login credentials.

You should treat with suspicion any unsolicited electronic communication that:

    • Requests you to provide personal, financial, or authentication information
    • Contains urgent language about account deactivation or security incidents
    • Offers compensation or incentives in exchange for completing a survey or form

If you receive such a message, do not respond, click links, or download attachments. Varidi is not liable for damages arising from your response to phishing attempts or similar schemes.

Common Fraud Schemes (“Phishing”)

Fraudulent communications may impersonate Varidi or appear to originate from our platform or partners. Common characteristics of phishing attempts include:

    • Alerts of unauthorized activity
    • Threats to suspend or cancel your payment agreement
    • Promises of refunds or incentives upon information submission
    • Claims of required system upgrades or account verifications

Consumer Responsibilities for Data Protection

You are responsible for safeguarding your personally identifiable information (PII) and account credentials. Recommended best practices include, but are not limited to:

    • Memorizing passwords and not writing them down or storing them insecurely
    • Creating passwords that are unique and not derived from personal identifiers such as birthdates or addresses
    • Regularly reviewing your Varidi account for accuracy and unfamiliar activity
    • Shredding sensitive documents prior to disposal
    • Securing devices with passwords and/or biometric protection

Varidi is not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from failure to follow these practices.

Fraud Prevention Measures

Varidi employs commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to detect and prevent unauthorized access or fraudulent activity. These measures include:

    • Transaction monitoring and flagging of atypical activity
    • Identity verification during service interactions
    • Immediate action upon report of suspicious account behavior

Notwithstanding these efforts, Varidi cannot guarantee that all fraud attempts will be prevented and disclaims all liability for losses caused by criminal acts beyond our control.

Identity Theft Prevention

To protect yourself from identity theft, you should:

    1. Limit access to your Social Security number and other PII
    2. Shred financial and identifying documents before disposal
    3. Avoid using publicly available information in passwords
    4. Validate the legitimacy of third-party communications before disclosing personal data

Routine Account Monitoring

Consumers are encouraged to monitor their financial accounts and credit history on a regular basis. Warning signs that may indicate identity theft include:

    • Unexpected or missing bills
    • Credit cards you did not apply for
    • Discrepancies on your credit report
    • Communications from unknown creditors

You may obtain one free credit report annually from each of the three nationwide credit reporting agencies at www.annualcreditreport.com.

If You Suspect Fraud or Identity Theft

You should:

    • Immediately contact Varidi at 888-992-8889
    • Place a fraud alert with one of the major credit bureaus
    • File a report with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) by visiting www.ftc.gov/idtheft or calling 1-877-ID-THEFT (438-4338)
    • File a report with your local law enforcement agency
